Episode 3

Bonjour madam à monsieur..

Well..i practically and literally walked till i drop in Paris..my right knee is making some protest towards my eagerness to cover as much of Paris as possible in two days that it is goin into a rage of fit and rioting..i am struggling to do stairs and walking on roads with elevation is a challenge for me now..normally only befitting a 70 old man..but i guess the rest of my body which is still 25 just told my knee to shut up and get on with it..hehe...so i pretty much reached my objective in Paris..

so much have i seen in Paris in these two days and i've come to a few conclusion

- the Louvre is realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly huge..even bigger than the famous Egyptian museum which is also very huge..happy that i had the chance to do both..but only briefly...the leg..i blame it on the leg

- the real monalisa is well...like all the fake monalisa's u see on all the other places in the world..even on the 0.20 Euro postcards..hehe...i dono..im not an artsy kind of person so i dont really appreciate what i saw...was just amazed by the fact that most of the other ppl who were there was so amazed with it and u can hear the ooohhh's and aaahhh's coming from their mouth while their eyes are staring on it for minutes if not hours end...bet they cant tell what is the diffrence between the old Porsche 911 and the new one..haha

- Like the same concept in Germany, in France, all toms, dicks and harry's drive either a Peugeot, Citroen or Renault..din see a rich guy with a Wira here though..

- Parisians love their baguettes and croissants, u see them selling and eating them everywhere..i do as well..cos they are the cheapest forms of food that i can find here..hahaha

- A day train pass rocks...it brought me to the whole of Paris without having to worry bout spending too much for transport..i pracically hopped on and off the train as if im the rotiguy stopping at every house to sell bread..

- Paris is really a stylo milo city..even in winter when all ppl are pretty much covered up...the Parisians really do them in style..not like our apeks who insists on Pagoda if its a t-shirt and Crocodile if its underwear..

so all in all..all i can say is that Paris is a very beautiful city..the people are beautiful..ahem..the buildings are beautiful and the lifestyle is beautiful...there's just so much class involed in everything..

i will say au revoir to Paris tomoro morning and board the Eurostar to London and then to Manchester to meet up with Lin Kheng before heading to Scotland together the next day...finally back to people i can understand after more than 7 months...my lingo is so mixed up right now with the arabic, german and french all in there to be manaragerfregish...confusing yet enlightening hehehe

i will definately miss Paris..so much to do..so little time...so catch u guys at the next stop...check in on time and bring some coffee!

Ich in Europa..Episode 3 prologue

Now in tour lag mode..so wont be able to write much...in Paris now...and was in Louvre and the Eiffel tower for a good part of the day..

tired..not much sleep and a bad leg..too much walking..limping now..so ill be back with more updates later..in mcd now with a cup of coffee and all the wifi i can use..hehe..so for now back to the hostel for some sleep and finally a bath..catch up later!

Ich in Europa..Episode 2

hi there ladies n germs..well we are now in the second episode of...ich in Europa..

everything is progressing well..after my first report that was when i arrived in Munich and checked in to the wonderful Meininger Hostel in LandsbergerStrasse, Munich..lots of things have happened..

that night itself..i went to a Bavarian beer hall for dinner..the Augustiner Beerhalle..very famous in Munchen...well..yup..they are the sort of like main beer brewers in Munich or perhaps maybe in Germany..not so sure bout that..i didn't know what to expect other than lotsa pork and of course..you've guessed it right..beer!

it was a very pleasant experience..from outside..everything looks quiet, peaceful n all..but once u step in..you sort of feel that finally ur in Germany..the place was full of ppl with the smell of bread and sausage lingering in the air and of course barmaids bringing around mugs upon mugs of beer..mind u..when i say mugs in Germany...minimum size is of those 0.5L ones and 1L ones are pretty popular..

First of all..let me share some enlightenment first..Munich is best known as the beer capital in the world..and the bavarians love their beer..wars and riots broke out bcos of beer..the people here worship their beer..and everything around town revolves around well...beer...i tried some Bavarian food which revolves around PORK and also Duck..and i tried the local beer, Augustiner Beer..i must say..it was the best beer i had in my life..beats those carlsberg and heinekens hands down..

and later in the night..i took a walk around the city and found the most famous beerhall in the world..and so they claim..the Hofbrauhaus...so famous..Hitler had parties here when he was in power..again was a very nice experience..the place was full and beaming with people enjoying their beer and there was a Bavarian band playing folk music which was pretty entertaining..of course in their famous Lederhosen..or leather shorts...i was there alone..and i never was bored for even a second..watching the antiques of people while drinking my 1L beer and eating pretzels..haha

To start off today..i woke up to the best gift i had since arrival...it snowed in Munich..yes it snowed...and temperature throughout the day was pretty much between 0 and -4 celcius..syiok eh? at first it was..and then it kinda got really really really really cold...and thats a statement from a fat guy who was wearing 1 t-shirt, 2 pullovers and one jacket over him...but i enjoyed the experience...first time in my life..and we're not talking bout mines wonderland or genting highlands...there was no entrance fee to play with snow...Yup...visa was free..of course i took the easy way which was to fly..so i have to pay a bit but if ur feeling kinda el cheapo grande...u could always swim..hehe..yeah sorry..lamer..

anyways...after a hearty breakfast with lotsa hams..all kind of hams that is..i proceeded to the Free Munich Walking Tour..met up with an Aussie at the hostel and we braved the falling snow to walk for about 2 to 3 kilometres to the meeting point..this was the highlight of the day..a free walking tour...yes..u dont need to pay to walk!!..hehe..just joking..there was a guide which brought us around Munich walking and showing us stuff and telling us history of Munich for 3.5 hours!...and we practically don have to pay him if we dont feel like it...but it was so good u'll feel guilty if u don't..honestly...i know im a cheapskate..but i gave him 4 Euros for it..and there was a big group of ppl..rich and poor (Read: Me) alike..and i guess everybody chipped in..so i guess he earned quite a bit for his efforts although it was non obligatory.

then i went about by myself after that..exploring churches n all..i was in a shoe shop buying a pair of shoe cos mine was dying..and guess what..i left a bag of bread i bought for later on a chair in the store while i was paying for the shoe and when i came back..it was gone!!...bloody baguette thiefs..and it was just a small shop...still cursing my luck till now..

i said bye bye to munich for now..will be back on the last day of my travel and i took the ICE train to stuttgart...lifeless place after 10pm..which was when i arrived there..really unlike other cities in the whole wide world such as Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Penang...being the capital of Porsche..i was surprised i din see much around the streets..when i was in Munich..out of ten cars u see..they'll probably be one..all the tom, dick, harry, mutu, jane and joe's here either drive a porsche, benz, bmw or an audi...and if ur poor..u drive a volkswagon golf GTi...haha..so i dont know what type of cars do they consider luxury here..i did see one Proton Wira on the streets...he must've been one of the rich guys in Germany i guess..haha

anyway when im writing this i was on the night sleeping train to Paris..almost crossing the Germany-France border now..and its 130am..kinda sleepy...gotta catch up with some sleep before the train arrives in Paris tomoro at 645 am..ok then..till episode 3 comes along..Guten Tag!

what IAMWLM means??

u know..i never really got interested with all these rubbish stuff on the web...there's just too much and u tend to grow out of it or when maybe a porn site pop-up pops out when ur doing it halfway...then it distracts u from it anyway..

but with the advent of technology and pop-up blockers ( thank god for them..now i don have to worry bout enduring embarassing moments when my mom stands behind me on the computer screen)...those were all history..so i had nothing to distract me n so what the heck..i gave it a try out of curiosity and then voila..the results..well..fairly acceptable

What Iamwlm Means

I is for Intelligent
A is for Adaptable
M is for Mesmerizing
W is for Wacky
L is for Luxurious
M is for Mesmerizing

although if it was my version of programming i would probably return these results

What Iamwlm Really Means

I is for Idiotic
A is for Assholish
M is for Monkey
W is for With
L is for Lunatic
M is for Musings

agree eh?

counting days...

yes...im doing that now...counting days..sorry for the lack of presence in the past days..have been really busy tying up loose ends in the office before i leave for good..anyway..thats another matter..promised that i'll never babble bout office and work here in this blog...it just doesn't deserve the effort..i hate discussing bout work..as if i dont "enjoy" it enough for a good part of my life everyday..but heck...it does pay the bills ;)

i have 3 more days before i leave Egypt for my backpacking adventure in Europe...in the midst of booking train tickets to connect the dots between the towns...then i have to worry bout filling it up with accomodation reservations..guess u will never understand the value of foreign exchange until u start paying for everything in euros and british pounds..haha..why would u..it just cost 50 for a return trip on a train between london n manchester..but heck..thats british pounds and thats 350 ringgit for 2 bloody train trips..aiyaiyai...mamamia

im starting to feel that the solution to all this is by practising the ignorance is bliss virtue..haha...i oredi made up my mind that i will do whatever i need to make this dream come true..and for everything else..there's Mastercard..hehehe..although some or rather most the credit have to go to Visa as well...

and oh yes...its confirmed i couldnt get any tickets to the liverpool-arsenal game in anfield on 31st of march..fully sold out..the only thing remaining...private tickets being sold at 200 GBP each..yeah...only 200 quids only ma...or after the vigorous punching down of the calculator button cos the brain just wont accept the fact and rejected to do any calculations...its about RM1400.00..i know i love Liverpool...but not as much as 1400...sorry lads..i'll support u guys from the pubs outside the stadium on match day!

till then..i hope some miracle will happen and..

i will be happy to accept donations for the "For Heavens Sake, Lets Send Loke Meng to Anfield Fund"..donations are accepted in all major currencies..

*terms and conditions don't bloody apply!!
